Disclaimer: never used Mac, only Windows. Then again, I've never heard
of drives only working on one operating system.

For what it's worth: I've been using various external and internal LG
drives for 10+ years and never had any problems.

Also: before you buy, make sure your drive is listed on
http://accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm.
