Re: Slow ripping

A couple of things:

1. Top speed is only achieved at the end of the CD, when reading the 
very outer edges.

2. The read speed will depend on the quality of the disc.

If there's any read issue, EAC has to reread the troubled sector ... 
sometimes many times over. That will slow down the rip significantly. 
Even flawless top speed on my machine generally tops out at 12x, and the 
rips start around 3x or 4x.
