Snark is not helpful. I assume that John's suggestion assumed that you
could easily do that in your role as Moderator.
If we decide to move the group to groups.io or somewhere else, it seems
to me a simple message to all members of this group telling them that
the group is moving to Wherever, and to reenlist themselves there. No
automatic moving of the list needed. Maybe set up an auto-reply with
instructions on how to move there and unsubscribe from here, if that
feature is available on Yahoo.
Yahoo groups isn't going away immediately, so there's time to set
something up if we want. The main thing that will be lost in the short
term are the files. I see that nothing has been put there since 10 years
ago, so maybe they're expendable.
