As you can see, he was suggesting that I email everyone in the EAC group, asking permission to provide their email addresses to groups.io <http://groups.io/> in order for me to move the EAC group (that’s what we had been discussing in the message to which he replied). I won’t belabor the labor involved in tracking how people answered, who answered, and turning that into something to be provided to groups.io. If you wish to discuss it at length, please email me privately.

That’s a reasonable approach. But losing the years of knowledge shared in the message archive on Yahoo would decrease the value of the group significantly. It’s my understanding that the message archives will cease to exist in the near future, leaving us with something that just accepts, and spits out, emails. Did I misunderstand that?

I have no opposition to that and would gladly relinquish the moderator role to anyone who wanted to take the initiative to set up, and advertise, a new home for the EAC group (with Andre’s permission, of course).
