Thanks for the advice, I'll try to find a drive that doesn't cache. A quick Google Search for "drives that do NOT cache audio data during reading" provided some interesting Hydrogenaudio threads which I'll read later today. One of them contained a download link for the Cache Explorer command-line utility cachex.exe, which can (quoting the README) "test various aspects of drive caching". If anyone wants this let me know and I'll upload it somewhere. --Martin
