Alternative Realtime Controller Options

I'm curious if there are any other *real-time *options available for
ecasound to control LADSPA effects, besides MIDI CC and OSC?
I wanted to see if pyecasound could do it but I cannot find any examples to
get started with.
I'm running on Ubuntu on WSL so I'm quite limited on what I can use to
control ecasound.
