Printing in 'Preview' leaves out blank pages so double sided printing goes out of sync?

I am trying to print a PDF book. I have done this successfully before.
I print the 'odd numbered' pages first. Then put the printed paper back
into the printer and print the 'even numbered' pages. Voila! just like
a normal book.
But this PDF has blank pages in it and they are not being printed or
fed through to keep the pages in Sync.
So the result is the printer leaves out any blank pages and the pages
become out of sync.
I need a program that feeds through blank pages to keep the books pages
numbered correctly.
I am now going to try Acrobat reader instead of Preview to see if it
prints blank pages.
Roman.
