Hi Jan - we have similar setups, except I'm on PT 7.3 because I heard DTDM was (even more) buggy with 7.4 (is it?) Re. your situation - put an empty track in solo (in the arrange page) so Logic is running, but silently, then click on the defiant apple loop and it will play. That's my workaround.
