L8, DAE and Core Audio: crash when changing session

The good news is that with the system below, DTDM and DAE are working fine.
The combo of DAE and Core Audio is also working ok for the first session,
but when I load a new one (after closing the first) Logic stalls. It always
stalls about 2-3 secs after selecting the new file, and freezes with the
black and white chequerboard "beachball" (the one that you see when EXS
samples are being loaded). I have tried a few things to no avail: removing
all but the necessary TDM, or AU plugins, clearing the sessions completely
of any instances of EXS, trashing preferences, repairing permissions. 

I have read that some people are successfully using DAE with Core Audio.
Would they have any ideas?
