Thanks Mark. Absolutely TDM wins in this regard. My work around for  
this situation is to always try to use a full analog signal path - so  
if this situation comes up I can work around it by patching the  
performer's input straight back to their headphones etc. It would be  
nice if i didn't have to do it this way but it does get the job done.  
The other thing is if I do have to record with a plugin it's usually  
monitor only - like a delay or reverb - and many times the per delay  
or delay time is longer than the current latency so I can get away  
with it.

Is there a particular type of plugin you tend to want to use when  
tracking?
