When I click on track 33, Logic asks where I want to put that audio.  
Same, at track 64, etc.

I think the key is when you start a new project, do not have the "save  
assets" box checked. When you do that, at the first track you record,  
Logic will ask you where you want to put it. Then you can create an  
"Audio Files" folder wherever you want for the first 32 tracks. This  
takes a little extra time, but I think the flexibility is good. That  
way, if you're doing a lot of track freezing, you can keep all the  
freeze files along with the sequence file on your first drive, and  
then start putting audio files on your next drive.
