Re: How are Digi core audio drivers with HD hardware these days?

i recently upgraded Logic 8 to Logic 9.

What works for me is the following:

In Logic use the DAE engine, and the Core Audio Engine using the built  
in audio.

I have a cable go from the optical output of the Mac - a G5 dual 2.0 -  
to the (included) optical input of the digidesign 192 audio interface,  
and another one go from the (included) optical output of the  
digidesign 192 interface to the optical input of the Mac (this one  
only for clocking purposes).

In Logic the Native Engine is set up normal, like if the TDM hardware  
did not exist. In my audio configuration i have an DAE/TDM Aux Object  
set up with inputs 9-10, those inputs are the ones receiving the Core  
Audio signal from the native side of Logic

In the TDM side you have to set up so that those optical routing  
works, in hardware set up.

Every time i launch logic, i have to go to Audio Midi Setup, to set up  
the clocking in the mac as external, so that the audio in the mac is  
clocked to the digidesign 192 audio interface.

This setup has worked for me, the last week, after i installed logic 9  
in that machine, i have not used the TDM rig, in logic sessions for  
more than 1.5 years, as timing sucked, between the TDM and the Native  
Engine...
