As some have pointed out, the Motif-Rack XS works fine as a multi, inserted
in the environment.
The mLAN will handle the midi, if that option is installed, and it will *
also* handle the digital audio, if that device is chosen as the audio device
in Logic.
A cleaner, more useful audio interface can be assembled in the audio-midi
setup app, where one can aggregate a new "aggregate" device, and include the
primary sound device (e.g., an RME FireFace800, in my case), with multiple
in-outs of the mLAN (called "Yamaha XS-Main". Choosing that aggregate
device from with Logic as the primary sound interface allows one to use
either or both, simultaneously. And it works perfectly.
