I believe that function has been reserved for he mLan/FW VST specification located in Cubase. I don't think any other DAW can access that ability of the MOtif's digital/firewire audio input/output. I think Yamaha's purchase of Steinberg has allowed them to focus their digital output to only Steinberg branded products. 

It work great (if you can figure the VST system out) in Cubase.
The VST mixer app that is included does work with any software but no digital audio transfers like it does with Cubase.
