Hi Everybody, Thanks for the info. especially for the fact that beta will not run on intel mac, I tried it and couldn't move anywhere with it. What would be the best os and Mac to run this beta version. And, is the beta1 better in any way? Stability... And then what os and Mac would be best for it? I use it for Wavestation ex (most important) and Korg z1. Thanks alot, Aviv --- In [email protected], "markdvc2002" <mark@...> wrote: > > [ADMIN] Re:OSX Beta > > > I would like to let everyone know that I have already written to Apple on behalf of the Sounddiver Group asking for permission to host the SD beta in the files section, or at least to ensure that they have no objection to links to where it might become available on the internet being posted to the list. > > Of course I understand the desire some may have to be able to access the beta. > > At the same time, please understand that I have no intention to cause problems for the Sounddiver list by possibly breaching Yahoo's terms of use - and yes, I have experienced just how quickly Yahoo close a group down, without even a detailed explanation to the list owner. Sounddiver may be long dead and gone, but there are still people who have been relying on it for many years who may still wish to access the archives and files this list continues to offer. As well as that, I obviously do not wish to cause any possible problems for myself as list owner and thus the individual here who may carry some responsibility. > > > While it is of course a pity and a loss that the beta is no longer available from Apple's website, it should be borne in mind that: > > - Apple did provide it for many years free of charge after Sounddiver was discontinued. > > - For those who recently signed up and may not be aware, the SD 3.1 Beta is not Universal Binary and as such, not able to run natively on any Intel Mac. > - It also requires the presence of an XSKey, which has not been required to run Logic since Version 8, and as such, has not been sold with Logic since Logic 8 was introduced some 3 years ago. > > > Until such time as I may get an answer, I want to ask everyone to refrain from repeatedly posting asking about what we can do to make it available.
