Just not to misundertand you: the EPROM fell out of its socket? How's that happening? Normally, the sockets are solid enough to hold their chips even if the board accelerates.

Did you take care of the right direction to reseat the EPROM? Are all pins correctly fit in the socket and none bent? Since the EPROM is the only socketed part on the PCB, there may be some other sort of damage - just check the voltages, regulator and condensors.
