Thanks, no I just partially lifted it out and resat it. I'm a tech. Always
the first repair strategy if there are socket-ed chips.

The thing is built like a tank, I can't image physical damage from what
happened. But I'll check voltages, thanks.

It's weird. I plugged just the ATM8 into my old OS9 mac, cycled the ATM8
power, clicked the test midi/send notes in OMS setup. None of the leds
blinked, but the OMS' chick voice said "MIDI received" - something came back
from the ATM8 Just the first mouse click. I was able to repeat this
behavior for a while but then it stopped. I even tried holding the panic
button own while powering up (another universal repair strategy). Nada.

I know there's static RAM in there somewhere. I bet it's full of garbage and
needs to be purged, perhaps with a sysex string. But what?

I may just get a MOTU 5 in 5 out, that's all I need. Cheap.

Probably get $50 for the oddball ATM8 power adapter.

Thanks
