The output from lsusb you previously posted indicated that the default
clock source was "internal."  You will likely need to change the clock
source to "S/PDIF" or "Digital in" or whatever it is called for your model
in whatever utility can set that for your interface.  I think that should
be alsamixer or the equivalent graphical version.
