Just to confirm, by 8 band we are talking about 4 x stereo so we would
have 4 compressors instead of three.

Would we need more xover bands if we gave the option to increase the
number of EQ bands from 1024 upto 16384? Looking at the code it should be
fine to do that as long as the total is a power of 2 and more than 32.
