Sounds ideal to me. Though if you put them in tabs, you could make all 
the controls available all the time, so long as the right tab is selected.

Yes, I believe you're right.

We've got two people suggesting 8... *I* can't imagine needing more than 
8 bands, but I hate to be Bill Gates saying 640k ought to be enough for 
anybody ;-)

At the same time, the range of human hearing isn't getting bigger... 
What do you think?
