multiband xover

So, the question now is how do we manage the 2nd xover? The obvious solution is to add multiple sliders and effectively replicate the first xover but with more sliders. However that might look a bit messy. Does anyone have a better idea for a control widget? If we replicate the first xover then we can keep all the sliders viewable but disabled until required or do we show/hide them? How does the user choose the number of bands easily. It seem more useful to have that functionality directly in the main window rather than having to open the preferences panel just to enable/disable a band. We could have check boxes next to the sliders to enable/disable the bands. If enabled the output controls will be added to a scrollable panel?
