Oh, joy. Yet again things are messed up by a sound server. Though, I hope with JACK it would be seamless, too. So the most interesting bug here for me is that either pulseaudio by design or mpg123's interface to ... eh, scrap that: Are you using mpg123's pulseaudio interface or is it via ALSA->pulse? Try mpg123 -o alsa --loop 4 file.mp3 vs. mpg123 -o pulse --loop 4 file.mp3 If using pulse directly fixes things, one can consider "fixing" ubuntu by changing the order of plugins (making pulse the default, falling back to ALSA if not available). But then, this still would mean that the ALSA->pulse bridge is faulty. It should not introduce gaps. > maybe something to inform users about on the lame homepage...
