I can announce that I got rather nice mp3x output with libmpg123 now. The frame data fits, but I got a 2 frame difference in total frame count between this and mpglib as well as some shift of decoded audio. I need to revisit the handling of delay/padding … maybe the feeding of libmpg123 confuses the frame counts. Analysis of WAV input being encoded matches exactly. I should be able to post a full patch this weekend, along with pushing the mpg123 changes to svn trunk. This will be a state where there is a configure check for the required mpg123 version and choice of mpglib or the libmpg123 binding. So far I did not bother implementing the deprecated libmp3lame decode API. Should that be wrapped, too?
