I am about to install on unbuntu.

This is because I tried the virtual image first and after spending loads of hours - it just does not work. It comes with all indexing but the recording table - the most important table and the only reason I need this whole shabang...

So now I will try to make it work from scratch. Part 1 went already very smoothly - installing the database, musicbrainz-server code, replication, etc. but I need the search server and will try that now.

My big question to you, before I try repeating what you're doing and perhaps being able to provide more feedback (e.g. if it worked or not) is:

Did you try with specific versions: maven v 2.0, jdk v 1.6 and tomcat 7?

[ btw, i was surprised at this recommendation because tomcat-7 is supposed to work with jdk 1.7, not 1.6, but that was the recommendation and it probably is ok...]

Thanks,
_D

I am running into problems getting musicbrainz server to run after following the instructions in install.md. I am on a mac, I get the error in the subject line when running "plackup -Ilib -r”. When I try to run LoadReplicationChanges I get:

Use of uninitialized value $iSchemaSequence in integer eq (==) at ./admin/replication/LoadReplicationChanges line 137.
Use of uninitialized value $iSchemaSequence in printf at ./admin/replication/LoadReplicationChanges line 139.
Sat Feb 28 12:12:50 2015 : Schema sequence mismatch - codebase is 21, database is 0

it seems to me that both scripts are using the same method to connect to the database and for some reason see it as blank. I have used psql to verify that the database is indeed intact. I did an import of the Feb 18th full export minus the edit file. Please let me know what I might be missing or how to continue troubleshooting. I have tried redoing this many times with the same result.
