I've just finished bundling up another pre-release of Netjuke. This version is fast approaching release quality. I've integrated a number of bug fixes, cleanups, and added some further error checking. And there's a few new goodies, too. In particular, this release includes:

- Batch downloading now works reliably across a variety of platforms and web browsers (tested: Mac OS X IE, Chimera, OmniWeb, Safari, Windows IE on XP, Linux Opera, Galeon, Mozilla). Should cover everyone now ;)
- Batch download will select an available download format for you if one has not been specified in the preferences.
- Batch download does not showup in playlists if it is not enabled.
- Organize utility has a great deal of additional error checking and handles filenames containing slashes correctly. Empty directories are now removed when organie is done.
- Organize can now handle individual files as well as directories.
- Organize no longer orphans tracks when moving them.
- Track info editor now contains 'Refresh' and 'Organize' buttons to re-read tag info from the media.
- The installer contains all database entries for all supported DB's.
- Ogg-vorbis writeback has been enabled. This will happen transparently when 'Edit Media' is enabled. NOTE: This requires that a copy of vorbiscomment be placed in the lib/getid3/ directory. The installer will attempt to do this for you if the directory is writable by the web user.
- Super-cool new autoconfiguration. Netjuke will look for installed copies of tar, zip, and stuff-it when the installer/upgrader is run. Server side playback utilities are also detected and selecting one from the menu will set the path for you. This takes away a few minutes of hunting pretty cleanly :)
- Documentation updates. These are not complete yet, but I put an outline into the CHANGELOG and TODO files.

I've spent most of today hammering on these changes and making sure this release is as stable and complete as possible. The next release should be a release candidate.

Happy Streaming!
Blake
