What version of ID3 Tags

What version of ID3 tags does netjuke look for. I have installed the
latest beta version and tried to import over 6000 mp3's yeap took
forever :-) but only like 2000 of them show up in the database. But I
can go to browse and see all the folders and files of my entire
collection. I have downloaded tagit to fix id3 tags but want to know if
I should use version1 or version 2. Also I need a good ripper for my
cd's for some reason when I ripped my collection I notice with tagit the
genre is not being put it.
