I know there's some differences in the standards for subcode data (eg between AES/SBU and SP/DIF) but I'm fairly sure neither can carry track names. As I understand it, CD-TEXT info is stored in the lead-in data (or is it lead-out) on the CD and can't be transfered via SP/DIF... Or to look at it another way, why would Sony sell a special cable to transfer track names ("Joint Text" or whatever they call it) if the data could be simply transferred via SP/DIF? Pete.
