I totally agree, and like many others would like to compliment you and
others on the outstanding work.  It really is!

However, where can I find the source code so as to experiment on my
own?  I'm working on Windows XP, Unix experience is from middle 80's
so not much good there...  I found the USB snooper code at SourceForge,
good starting point for USB-related things.  I found the gnetmd front
end, and that contained an old version of libnetmd, from October last
year; a starting point that also, but not much point in plowing up
fields that others have already done.

Judging from other postings there once was a web-site at
monocromatic.net, but it seems to be gone.

My interest is three-fold: first, I really really don't like copy
protection schemes that needlessly limit the user; second, I do like
open systems and free code (however, and off-topic, how do I enlist
my one small GNU license freeware program with the GNU list of freeware,
that list seems pretty _closed_ to me???); and third, the direct reason
I joined this mailing list, I got a Sony NET MD 505 player as a
Christmas gift and was abhorred by the software (the Jukebox); since
then I've found and installed SimpleBurner and SonicStage, but I still
want to make my own Windows GUI frontend with less hassle and dassle,
less idiotic restrictions and more real functionality, and the ability
to record true SP... !
