i think atmel had great 2.4Ghz chip with opensource driver code.
as far i know intersil have similiar one, but on pcmcia.
i don't know about any phone with usb _and_ C compiler, or ablity to run
binaries.... but there are plenty which can run java.
such phone should be just connected to wireless card, and voila, you can use
WEP and higher level encryption methods and talk all around the internet.
of course sf should be ported to such cellphone, but it is enteriely in C and
using linux only for tcp/ip + dsp, so this should be possible.
other - more like DIY would be to use uC linux, and those machines which run
linux and fit on an SIMM module. this would make cellphone look a bit
homemade (depending on your mechanical skills ;) but working for sure!
keyboard would be an problem... hmm. i posted an question about DFMT (dual
frequency modulated tones?) + speak freely, i'll google for some code which
could decode dfmt, then even small script will be enough...
