Conference is possuibly one of the places where higher badwidth 
codecs could be used.
Let's assume that there ia a 4 party conference on which 2 people are 
on a low bandwidth link, and 2 on a wide one: 
The two "richer"would encode at hig rate, the poorer at low rate.
The reflector in turn would take care to recode widemad signal to 
supply to rarrowband user, and on the other part, for example recode 
the wide and narrowband signals all together (popssibly mixing) as a 
spatial sterio signal, so the one with wider band would enjoy the 
appearance to have the othger interlocutors on different positions.
This is the same used by real video, or ffmpeg, where the server 
encode the same stream at different bitrate to accompliush divverent 
capabilities.
