Tongue half in cheek, I'd propose a moratorium on new features that haven't 
been drawn up as a functional spec ;-p

Maybe it's a simple matter of receiving and passing to a function, but even 
that, if the data format is different from existing midi messages, it's 
worth speccing out, to start a new habit.
