Peter -

Historically, the SuperCollider email lists have had two topics and two
email addresses - *sc-users* and *sc-dev*. On scsynth.org, we chose to
provide more categories so people can have more choice over what they
receive emails about.

In general, discussion that would have occurred on *sc-dev *takes place in
the Development <https://scsynth.org/c/development/17>category, and via the
email address ct-development *[email protected]
<[email protected]> . *Discussion that occurs on *sc-users*
generally takes places in the Questions <https://scsynth.org/c/questions/6>
category, via the email address *[email protected]
<[email protected]> . *The other categories are generally for
announcements/non-SC discussions, or as long-term places for keeping
resources like guides, articles, and learning materials (these also have
their own addresses, if you ever need to e.g. announce an event you're
playing).

In case it wasn't clear, you don't need to use a specific email address to
communicate with TOPICS - there's simply a specific address for different
CATEGORIES of discussion, as there was on the previous mailing list. Unless
a category is muted, you will receive emails for ALL categories and can
reply to them as one would expect - but if you are creating a new topic,
you do need to choose where that topic is posted.
