There seem to be some general problems with setting the window mask used
to get a shaped window. in early iterations of my gtk2 patch, popping
down the equaliser panel would cut off the bottom of the window at the
point the window had previously finished.

Didn't I remove the freetype stuff from configure.ac in my last patch?
