hmmm. I didn't even known non-ASCII filenames were valid. I am running
with LANG=en_GB.UTF-8. As an experiment I copied and pasted some random
cyrillic characters from the unicode character map, to create a file with
a cyrillic name.

I can then go to Edit|Add tracks from disk in the Music browser, and can
add the file to the playlist. If the file doesn't contain an ID3 tag, then
the cyrillic filename shows up as the track title.

The add files dialogue you get from the main zinf window seems broken full
stop (i.e. for both ascii, and utf-8 filenames)

I'm not quite sure how fresh my build is though. I kinda put zinf on a
back-burner because it was taking up too much of my time for a project
that didn't seem to be going anywhere. Having said that, it is still my
preferred music player, and there does still seem to be stuff happening,
so maybe I was too hasty.

Roman, is your russian translation available in CVS? I am willing to look
into this. The problem about translating the zinf.fat is a bit of a
dilema, and is one of things that seriously sucks about having a bitmap
interface. Personally I would be happy to use a GTK based UI. GTK is a lot
prettier than it used to be, and I don't think there are that many people
who actually care that zinf is themeable.
