Patch is below:   I just need to run make again and automake will
automatically run.   You will need to have automake and autoconf
installed on your system though.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the problem you're facing.  If
the symlinking is causing the make to fail please include
a trace of the output and I'll try to fix it.
