Anyway, if we're only going to bother giving an estimate, why not just
call each track 4 minutes. (see attached graph (assuming this mailing
list allows attachements))

Just kiding. I realise why we can't get the time without playing through
the data, and I know why that would be bad (I do have nearly 20gigs of
mp3s and Oggs)

I just wondered if we needed to distinguish (both internally and in the
ui) between an estimated length, and an actual known length from a file
that has been played before?
