That would allow playing just a subset of a playlist, rather > than the whole list. It could list the songs singly or grouped by artist. Yes.. I've always thought so.. I think this would go in with the dynamic playlist functionality. I'm thinking about making the tree list being able to expand any number of levels. Each internal node would be an m3u node which could contain other m3u files or songs at the leaf nodes. Some m3us would be dynamic while others would be actual files stored somewhere. This would also make implementing a directory view tree list much easier. For example, another project I work on, the edna song server, generates m3u files on the fly based on the contents of directories. The we could simply have a top level directory view with "My Folders" as a dynamic directory m3u. It would in turn expand to other directory m3u's and eventually song files. I'll see about adding thing functionality to the musiccatalog next a few weeks after the 2.2.4 release. After that it mean adding some gtkbrowserhacking is required. After that then playlists should expand whether file based or dynamic as envisioned above. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Luke Scott > Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2003 4:12 PM > To: Zinf-Devel > Subject: [Zinf-devel] Add Folder & Genre Navigation Items > > > Add Folder & Genre Navigation Items > > *** Luke Scott - [email protected] > > It would be very easy to add items on the "My Music" navigation panel to > browse through songs by folder and genre, in the same way as Artists and > Playlists currently are.
