Short answer:  Not sure.

All the files (I think) are back into CVS.

I have given some time to trying to build win32,
but lack experience dealing with that platform
has slowed progress.


Building on Windows:

I have visual c++ version 6.  However, the 
original project files were version 5 and
do not seem to upwardly compatible.   

Anybody have some working project files for
zinf using version 6 or could somebody explain
to me the conversion process?

Building on linux:

1.  Using the mingw32-msvc cross-compiler.
  The new automake system (in theory) allows
us to use cross-compilations tools to build a
win32 binary.   I have played around with it,
but the Makefiles  need some(maybe alot of) tweaking.

If you would like to try this: 
Install the mingw32 compiler.

Build the support libraries or retrieve their binaries:
id3lib
musicbrainz
vorbis


Here's the incantation 

>From the zinf top level:

$mkdir buildw32; cd buildw32
$CC=i586-mingw32msvc-gcc CXX=i586-mingw32msvc-g++  ../configure --host=i586-mingw32msvc --build=i386-linux
