You may have run zinf as root, and then it 
crashed.   zinf uses a semaphore and a shared memory 
segment to determine if there are any other instances running.

  Shutdown or kill all running instances of zinf (use ps to make
sure you get them all).

  run "ipcs"
$ ipcs
 
------ Shared Memory Segments --------
key        shmid      owner      perms      bytes      nattch     status
0xfb000001 1048583    kris      660        4096       0

  Remove any keys beginning with 0xfb00000X

$ ipcrm -m 1048583

Also check for semaphores...
