A bit of history will explain this.

Zinf used to be FreeAmp, and FreeAmp was developed by none other than
EMusic developers (which included Jason Woodward, Mark Elrod, Isaac
Richards and myself). We developed the download managed to make the
download process from EMusic easier, so the download manager was
created. Emusic has poured an ASSLOAD of money into this project. They
never charged anyone a dime for using this product. So, stop bagging on
EMusic and instead perhaps give them some credit.

EMusic required that the player be available for both Windows and Linux,
which is quite a bit of a challenge, but if you've run both the Windows
and the Linux version of Zinf, you'll see how close they are.

For some reason, the windows version of the player was always more
unstable than the Linux version. The linux version works quite nicely
and hasn't crashed on me in quite some time.

I'm sorry that the Windows folks don't have that same experience.

Given this latest feedback, I think I should've gone with my old idea of
dropping the windows support altogether and simply continue the player
as a Linux only player.

Hey Ed, wanna drop Windows support?

EMusic will roll out their download manager soon, and I've changed the
handled mime type and removed the calls to the Jukebox that handles
pass-offs of unhandled RMP types. That should improve the stability of
the window version, I think. I'll put that out as version 2.2.1 in the
next week or so, and then we can wipe the windows code from the
codebase.

Whaddya think?
