Zinf/Windows problems - partial retraction

Since I have taken it upon myself to criticise  ... certain people 
hereabouts ... for running off at the mouth I need to face up to the 
fact that I have done the same myself. In an earlier message I wrote:

This was, at least partially, nonsense. My out-of -the-box PC *does* 
have Windows Media player installed - as I would have noticed had I 
bothered to look. Whether the player is responsible for the Zinf 
problems I know not - but clearly I should stop pontificating about 
things happening on PCs when I don't even know what software is 
installed.
