Aaaaah, I understand the question better now.

Hmm.  I suppose I don't immediately see why it wouldn't work, so long as 
you reload or restart the Director after every set of changes.  (And 
frankly, restart is safer.  I've seen the Director go unresponsive after 
a sufficient number of reloads.)
