If you don't get an answer, that usually means one of two things; A) no one knows the answer, or B) your question is not presented in a way anyone understands.

When you are on all projects, the categories are drawn together from redundant sources. The data structure is rather complex in that area and making a distinct set of categories requires a coupe of steps. I suspect the code for this report was written a long time ago and for MySQL that means some things were not supported as well as one might wish.

I assume no one has had the time or inclination to rewrite the code to roll up a distinct category report for all projects. Sounds simple but is not something that would garner a high priority.

Now, that may sound snarky, but it is not meant that way. It just that the developers of Mantis have to pick their battles. After all, it is free of cost to the end user, and there are a lot of enhancement requests to consider.

That said, Mantis is also open source. So you could pop open the code segment that assembles the list and add a bit of your own code to set things straight. With that in hand, post it to the forum as a proposed enhancement.
