Bernhard,
I got thinking more about this and I'm not happy about my suggested fix. The problem was that a detector raised an exception. The try/except block that catches the exception should be in one of these two methods identified in the stack trace - fireReactors or react:
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/roundup/backends/rdbms_common.py", line 1723, in set
self.fireReactors('set', nodeid, oldvalues)
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/roundup/hyperdb.py", line 1263, in fireReactors
react(self.db, self, nodeid, oldvalues)
Doing this avoids the confusion with client disconnects and a detector error.
When I come up with a fix I'm happier with I'll look for John's tracker issue and attach a HG diff file to it, with some comments.
