Thanks Ralf,

I'll check out the regression test.  FirebirdSQL works on lots of 
platforms including Linux.  When it was Interbase it's main claim to 
fame was that it required no maintenance, used a multi-generational 
architecture with full transaction support and kept all it's data in a 
single file.

In my experience, it is very stable.  I've never had a corruption 
problem or needed to do any kind of maintenance and I've been using it 
on production sites for more than 10 years.
