Hi all:
We are trying to get a 1.6 release of roundup out now that Ralf
Schlatterbeck has fixed a couple of blockers that were created by my
coding (thanks Ralf 8-)).
This is a call for testers. Please test the current tip. You can download
the current tip using:
https://sourceforge.net/p/roundup/code/ci/tip/tarball
in your browser. I would like to release during the first week of July
so please try testing before 21 June. That lets us have enough time to
address any last minute issues and coordinate a release.
If you can't test, you can still help with the release by:
* updating wikipedia and other lists that reference roundup
* wordsmith and post announcement emails for the wiki and other places
* review the documentation and suggest improvements
* other things that I have forgotten....
please let me know if you would like to help so we can coordinate
efforts.
Note that the new roundup requires python 2.7.
It has 36 new features including:
* large improvements in CSRF protection - nonces, header validation etc.
* support for setting SameSite cookie option
* basic support for html only emails
* security check functions can have access to additional context
* use different templates following form submission can be used if
the submission succeeded or caused an error
* password recovery using registered alternate email addresses
* journal/history entries are filtered by security functions
* woosh support - Python full text indexing
* new cgi action 'restore' that undoes the retire action
Also it has 61 bug fixes including:
* fix loss of form values on edit exceptions
* using login from search (or logout) now works
* fix path traversal issue with template names
* prevent a user from creating a query with a duplicate name
* capture some exceptions from auditors/reactors and
raise a DetectorError instead. Used to result in traceback.
* fix propagation of @pagesize to prev/next links
* using nosy=+foo on multiple issues no longer mangles nosy lists
* fix subject parsing in mail gateway with multiple prefixes
* multiple doc fixes
* duplicate emails suppressed if user in cc and bcc lists
* permissions fix to make "show unassigned" link work if user not logged in
* classic template query.edit page now works
* retry getting write lock in Xapian index rather than generating error
* add transaction lock around db.newid when using sqlite
* multiple traceback fixes
* query.item.html was missing checks to verify that a query should
be visible to the user
The full change list is at:
https://sourceforge.net/p/roundup/code/ci/tip/tree/CHANGES.txt
Upgrade document is at:
https://sourceforge.net/p/roundup/code/ci/tip/tree/doc/upgrading.txt
There are three required changes to trackers to support the new version.
These are marked in the upgrade document with (REQUIRED).
Thanks for your help in making roundup better.
