Has anybody implemented @mentions?

Hi everybody:

While you all enjoy the new beta release, I wanted to ask if anybody
has implemented @mentions?

E.G. In a message if I mention @rouilj, that user should receive a
copy of the message update and on display it should be a link pointing
to the user's page. @mention processing shouldn't work unless the @ is
at the beginning of the word and the username exists.

If your site uses email addresses as usernames, I guess @[email protected]
could work.

Also does anybody see a use for processing #hashtag references? What
would hashtag be (a keyword??)? What use case would it solve for you?

Hope everybody has a great rest of the week.
