Sorry, that thread completely went under on my side. Can we make an
issue for this? My guess is that this is a bug we still have (even on
head). I'll try to come up with a test that reproduces this. Note that
I'm also using several instances of rev_multilink but have never seen
that issue (and I think that we do have tests that explicitly search
'-1' for rev_multilinks).

This would be a good idea. In the meanwhile I'll check if I can
reproduce this.
