I've seen designers advocate this approach in the past. To me it's a bit
jarring to go to a web site and then back to my email to log in. Password
managers and UFA both provide a more seamless user experience.

But I can see why a designer might suggest this approach: most people don't
have access to these fancy technologies, so for them one less password to
remember is nice, especially for an infrequently used site.
