Notes on new midgard-data

Greetings!

Some notes about the future of the midgard-data package and its
relation to Aegir CMS:

<bergie> I think we should use the top banner and some of the CSS stuff
in midgard-data as well
<bergie> ...for the new midgard-data with MidCOM AIS, SpiderAdmin, etc

<tonio> you mean for the sample site?
<bergie> yes, and the admin interfaces

<bergie> the way I see it, in the future Midgard will provide the base
CMS package:
<bergie> * MidCOM
<bergie> * Example site
<tonio> if they run off css there is no reason why not
<bergie> * SpiderAdmin for editing
<bergie> ...and if you want a more comprehensive UI you install Aegir
CMS on top of that
<tonio> where does that leave aegir?
<tonio> okay i see
<tonio> because there are things that can be done with spider admin that
aegir can't?
<bergie> no. because of licenses and because some users will still
prefer a very lightweight UI
<tonio> the people that know what they are doing, yes
<bergie> SpiderAdmin is same as Old Admin but supports parameters,
blobs, etc
<tonio> i haven't looked at it
<tonio> is it presentable for clients?
<bergie> for content authors, the main UI would come through MidCOM on
both Aegir and regular Midgard
<bergie> tonio: nope... for business usage you'll want to keep Aegir :-)
<tonio> okay
<tonio> still a lot of 'little' fixes needed
